On Saturday 8th April, DCGR were invited to have a Meet A Greyhound event at Murray Farmcare in Dumfries.
We had 8 greyhounds, a Galgo and 2 whippets helping us to raise funds for DCGR. The staff in store were EXCEPTIONAL and believe it or not, some had never seen a greyhound face to face. The greys didn’t disappoint either. Even the homeless hounds were in their element with muzzles on in case they got stressed.
Everyone fell in love with homeless Dolly who was a star and decided to have a seat on a cross support of the table. Apart from a small Easter themed sales table and our charity bucket, we were donated the proceeds from the instore children’s face painting. The result – over £100 raised for DCGR funds, two possible home assessments and many people more knowledgeable about our charity.
A big thanks to the Dutch couple who have relocated to Scotland who paid us a visit with Lawrence the Galgo and the couple from Rhonehouse with the whippets for popping by also.
