Dan Needs Your Help!

Dan: Our longest resident needs your help to find his forever home

There are some dogs who take a little longer to find a home just because of appearances. Often it’s the black coated dogs, or the male dogs, typically people don’t ask for the older dogs first and many people think a medium or larger dog won’t fit in with busy homes and lives.

So, if you are some of these things, you may see many of your kennel pals waving their paws goodbye on their way to forever homes as you continue to wait patiently for your new family to arrive. We currenty have such a boy and his name is Dan.

Dan is gorgeously handsome, a loving boy living in a foster home but dreaming of his forever family. Already having home experience means he will fit in with most domestic situations, is toilet trained, can climb stairs, is not worried by traffic or other household noises.

Dan is full of energy for long walks and is absolutely great on lead. He loves playing with his toys and will amuse himself in the garden until you are ready for adventures. Dan is confident and enthusiastic and loves meeting everyone.

Dan is only 4 years old, still youthful and full of energy. He is a handsome black coated boy, a good medium to large sized chap already through all his vet checks and in peak health. Dan is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, parasite treated and being used to home life is already able to be left alone for a few hours without issues.

Dan is a very affectionate dog, gentle with children and loving with everyone, but he isn’t needy. He has the confidence to enjoy his own company and would like to be the only dog in the home. He won’t pester or demand attention, but loves being out meeting people when you are ready to take him out on adventures.

Dan is a great traveller in the car. He will hop straight in unaided, settle happily and loves going out on adventures with you.

Dan is an ex-racing dog though and so is not suited to living with small furry companions, cats or near livestock. In fact we think Dan would prefer to live in a more urban environment and as the only dog in the home.

Dan sleeps quietly through the night, can sleep in a crate or a bed and is so well behaved, he has even stayed in a hotel on his holidays with his foster family.

So please, please consider Dan if you are looking to adopt a greyhound. He has waited longer than any of our other dogs and is such an amazing boy. Contact us for more information or if you think you could offer Dan his forever home.

You will find further details Dan on our Available Dogs page and he is also currently our Dog Of The Month.
