This walk is our Cumbrian location for the annual Great Global Greyhound Walk (GGGW) and a wonderful circular route around Bitts Park, Carlisle, CA3 8UL including the Sheepmount Athletic Stadium, following the River Eden back to Carlisle Castle.
We start from the Castle Car Park on Devonshire Walk heading into Bitts Park from the south. Crossing the River Caldew we pass the Athletic Stadium heading for the River Eden which we then follow along a lovely woodland path which takes us back into Bitts Park.
The walk is mostly flat and about 2.5 miles along established paths but we do cross the playing field which may be muddy so please dress appropriately for the weather. Facilities include toilets, parking, play areas and the marvellous T&G Cafe on the way back for both human and doggy ice-cream. Hope to see you all there!
