Following some changes to the Animal Welfare Regulations and after a lot of hard work by our committee officers, DCGR are now licensed by Dumfries and Galloway Council as an Animal Rehoming Charity under the terms of the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) (Scotland) Regulations 2021.
This Licence changes very little of what we do or our passion for finding homes for ex-racing greyhounds, but it assures anyone adopting from our charity that the welfare of the animals in our care is not only our priority, but is regulated and inspected, and that all of our activities are recorded and compliant with the latest rules and requirements.
We are very pleased to have the support of our local Dumfries and Galloway Council and know that together we can ensure the level of our commitment to our greyhounds is of the highest standard.
