On Wednesday 9th, Graham and Margaret Hill travelled down to Haltwhistle to give a talk on Greyhounds and DCGR to the over 60’s Club who meet regularly in the Old Comrades Club in the Town.
Over 25 ladies listened to the talk and shared a few laughs especially when Graham played the Annette Crosbie and Richard Wilson CD about greyhounds.
Unknown to Graham, the ladies had organised a small Bring and Buy event with all proceeds going to DCGR. At the end of the talk, Margaret came into the room with Rhys and Honey and were also joined by Malcolm and Liz Burnage with DCGR greyhound Finn who stay locally.
The ladies were overwhelmed that the greyhounds were so quiet and well behaved. A really successful event in promoting greyhounds as family pets and with the charity tin, Bring and Buy and donation for the the talk, over £130 was raised all going to the welfare of the hounds in our care.
Big thanks to Christine from the group for inviting us and the ladies for being so generous.
Pictures show Graham presenting the talk, the greyhounds with Margaret and Liz and the hounds stealing the show as ever!
